The Old Star

Welcome to the web site of The Old Star, a Cheshire free house situated on Swanlow Lane, in the Darnhall area of Winsford.

The pub has recently been taken over by local publican Ernie Welch, and it his belief that the Old Star should be a comfortable, relaxing environment where friends and families can socalise and enjoy quality drinks, snacks and good company. A lunchtime menu is planned and news of that will be posted on this site as soon as it is launched.

Extensive refurbishment is in the pipeline and the Old Star will soon be the best place in the area to enjoy a quiet drink, a night out or a birthday or other celebration.

Ernie has a love of music, particualrly Irish and regular evenings of entertainment will be on offer to suit all tastes. There will be events and teams for everyone to get involved in, a football team, darts, dominoes, and those who enjoy watching sporting events such as football and rugby will be able to enjoy supporting their teams in the best bar in the town.
